Pages (For Reference Only) PLEASE NOTE: This page is left here for archive purposes only. Feel free to use this contract and alter for your business. Make sure all responsible parties in your household agree to the purchase of the animal you intend bring home. Not every person will abuse or mistreat an animals out of spite, but some will. If nothing else -- the animal and the new owner will not live in harmony with other household members, without the agreement of all responsible parties. I know that many animals are dumped, destroyed, abused or treated cruelly by a member of the household that didnt want it in the first place. So please out of respect for the animal dont surprise someone with your new purchase. Deposits: Please get your deposits in to us once you learn of what is available. Animals are held on a first paid deposit basis. We are a natural farm learning about becoming organic, we believe good health and a long productive life starts long before birth. We believe this is achieved be feeding in the best possible way we can afford and know to provide. On each of our animal pages we have our current feeding program for that specific breed, you may read further about these programs there. Since we believe that good health is best achieved by not continually weakening the immune system, we do not give routine shots, {except for the rabies vaccine to our dogs/cats 6 month or older as required by law}. We do worm them with an herbal wormer that is non-toxic. We also use natural antibiotics: herbs, vitamins, minerals, yogurt, kelp, etc. to heal if an animal is ill. We do use medication if there is an emergency that needs results that we cannot treat naturally without risking our animals lives. This does not occur often, but we always maintain an open mind in the treatment of our animals. We do most of our own veterinary care, but do consult with our vet if the need arises. We are constantly studying and learning more about healing with the tools God has given us: herbs, vitamins, diet, etc. We welcome helpful suggestions , references for us to study, even discussions about what we have learned. But please keep in mind, we respect ourselves and will not argue the pros and cons of our decisions or get into lengthy heated discussions. In return we respect your opinions too. So once we have agreed to you purchasing our animal and you take possession of them, we do not insist on you following our health program. In reality we ask that you carefully review everything we do that you wish to practice and make sure it is the correct decision for you and your animals. Any shots desired are your personal responsibility and the costs of such are also your responsibility to pay for. Your Company's Name will not be held responsible for any harm done by shots or improper care after leaving our farm. Animals are sold as is, and all animals are sold in good health and fed a good feeding regimen while at our ranch. We will give you a rough draft to design your own personal regimen of health care for your dog. We would like you to stay in touch, sending us pictures, updates and letting us be a support. *** Lets
begin with these simple facts: Due to
this unfortunate fact there in no guarantee, expressed or implied.
Nutrition
is without exact laws, but comes with research, experience and
hard work. We trust there is good, adequate nutrition to be found
in a prepared food with selective supplementation, but not all
packaged foods are equal. One must choose which to use. By signing,
I / we are agreeing that I/we have read the above, I/we take full
responsibility for the care, nutrition, health, and training for
the above described puppy. I / we have received all the current
information in this New Puppy Starter Packet. We also require a $150 non-refundable deposit on all of our animals. This will hold the animal of your choice until it is weaned, or until you make transport arrangements within 30 days. Thanks so much for considering animals from our ranch! All traveling papers/ transportation costs are the responsibility of the purchaser. More About What is REQUIRED: DOGS: Because no single buyer can ever spend the amount of time with the puppies that we do, Your Company's Name reserves the right to select the most appropriate puppy for the buyer. At times, the buyer will be offered a choice between 2 or 3 prospects that would meet the criteria and goals of that person. And in these cases the deposit order will determine who gets first pick of this group of "identical" prospects. Each pup will be carefully watched to see how their temperament and attitude best fits. Most any Pyrenees can be a pet or a livestock guardian but we have seen that from birth certain pups exhibit a preference for one or the other so we work hard to make sure the puppy you take home will fit your needs. PLEASE NOTE: A well behaved pet, or livestock guardian is the product of 2-3 years of work. Some pups need more guidance than others but the dogs who end up in rescue or are euthanized, are ones that are bought as a cute pup, thrown out in the backyard/ or in with the livestock, never trained right from wrong, and when something bad happens {injures a baby goat/lamb/chicken}, tears up the back yard from boredom, it is dumped. Please read DO I GO HOME TODAY? if you havent already done this. If this poem does not touch your heart and you do not have the ability or conviction to take on this 12-15 year responsibility, we thank you for looking, but please do not purchase a puppy from us. We are only looking for permanent and loving homes, that are willing to do the work necessary to have an excellent family or livestock guardian. Without commitment a dog may do ok, but it will never be the wonderful partner and friend that God created it for.
GOATS: Anyone who has ever owned a goat will testify to their engaging, dog-like personality. They do not eat garbage, but they are browsers (cousins to deer) so they eat anything higher up first, and they seek out plants with vitamins they need, so they will eat: rosebushes, many trees, strawberries, flowers, etc. They will eat grass, and weeds too but they will only take a bite here and there. They are very easy to care for, but need good nutrition to produce. Do not think you can feed them garbage, they are very particular and will only eat clean, uncontaminated food, unless starved. They will eat some scraps fruit peelings for example {never feed potato peels}. They also need good quality feed, many people think that a goat can get by on 'browse' and put them in a dry paddock with minimal feed. In New Mexico, or other desert areas, most of our forage will not support livestock without supplementation with good quality Alfalfa hay, or a large area. About 1 acre of browse minimum per goat, and still in the cold seasons of minimal growth, they must have supplements. Goats can be escape artists. They need a sturdy fence {they will ruin cheap fencing by rubbing along it to scratch}. Cattle panels work wonderfully and are very easy to move, electric wire is also an alternative. They do need shelter from drafts, sun, and rain. It can be as simple as a large dog house, however if you are planning to milk, remember you will need somewhere you can stand up in ~ this is more convenient at kidding time, too!
